First Advisory Board Meeting

Nepalese Association of Victoria has conducted its first Advisory board meeting of the tenure 2022-2024 via zoom on Sunday.

The newly appointed Advisors are welcomed and introduced. Executive committee has presented a brief summary of events conducted since August 7. Meeting was regulated by Secretary Mr Madhab Kharel. Mr Prem raj Upreti President NAV has facilitated the event coordinators (Excom members) in presenting the information.

A glimpse of Six month activities presented by Excom Member during meeting Mr Krishna Chalise ( Vice President) -Text book and stationeries have been distributed to Four BalChautari . New curriculum development is underway . Tshirt will be soon distributed. Charity Match and Gala dinner is organised to support BalChautari . Lalisha Thapa(Vice President) Teej celebration was organised on 27 August. A Nepali Folk song Competition was organised. Covid Awareness was the subject matter of Song. $1000,$750 and $500 were the reward to first, second and third . Around 350 people were attended the event. NAV women forum will be reformed soon. Dr Yakindra Timilsena (Treasurer) Australia Day was celebrated through series of events. Marking day with community cricketers on 22 Jan 2023, Interstate dance competition on 26 Jan featuring 6 states Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory ,Tasmania and Victoria . $1000 ,750 and 500 is rewarded to participants. Meeting with Honourable Education minister Natalie Hutchins was organised to discuss about effective management of BalChautari .

Mr Alok Poudel (Joint Secretary) Focal point online interaction series was started in Oct in view to support youth through adequate information on key issues. Ist event – Mental Health and well being (30 Oct) – speakers Dr Anupam Pokharel and Dr Raju Adhikari 2nd event – Suicide prevention ()- Speaker Beyond Blue 3rd Event Job prospects and support- speaker Obaidhur Chaudhary and Subesh Panth Jobs Victoria Deep Chand (Sports Coordinator) Sports Committee formed , NAV cup has been under way since Jan 19 , 12 Teams participated . Final on March 19 .Charity tournament has 8 teams . $50 dollars will be raised from each player to contribute towards Children language schools . On final another fundraising Gala dinner will be organised to support Schools. Paras khadka , cricket Legend ,goodwill ambassador NAV cup 2023 will be felicitated along with Binod pandey , Sports bureau , Kantipur. $60 dollars will be charged for each attendee . Nepali team will be participating in Touch Footy World Cup on March 25. Third MulticulturalSoccer will be held in May . Planning to organise multicultural Volleyball in June.

Nirajan Regmi (Children Affairs) Bal Diwas was celebrated on 30 Oct. 6 schools were participated . Around 450 people were attended the event. Cultural as well as Sporting activities were organised including Quiz. Online speech competition was organised on 4 Sep . More than 20children were participated and rewarded with gift voucher and cash reward. Laxman Sanjyal ( Media Art and Literature) Melbourne literature Forum was established and literature event was organised on 7 Jan . More than 25 poet were participated. Dashain Tihar celebration event was organised on 23 rd Oct with aim to fundraise to Flood affected Victorians. Shepparton community is being handed $1500. NAVExcom has just surpassed six months. More than 9 events were conducted with overwhelming support of community. At the same time , supporting other community organisations importantly like NRNA in Nepal Festival, ANMC in Dashain Tihar, fundraising , and membership . NAV is thankful to Victorian Government, VMC and Nepalese Businesses t for their financial support .
