Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Appeal
We are deeply sadden by the significant loss of life and destruction caused by the catastrophic earthquake in Nepal on Saturday, 25 April 2015 with the magnitude of 7.8 Richter scale . This devastating earthquake has destroyed many world heritage monuments, monasteries, buildings and infrastructure across the country. Over 4,000 lives have been lost and large number of people injured and rendered homeless.
Our thoughts are with all our fellow Nepalese in Nepal and we stand strong behind them.
In this tragedy, the Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV), Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia (Victoria), Consulate General of Nepal for Victoria and all Victorian Nepalese community organisation, have joined hands to form a Nepal Earthquake Relief and Welfare Committee to provide necessary support to the relief operations in Nepal.
We are therefore appealing all Victorians, businesses and organisation, for their support and assistance.
We have also launched a facebook page: Victorians Stand Together For Nepal to provided details of our relief effort and activities and how you can support.
Together, we stand strong for Nepal.
