Nepali Community in Victoria Walks for Welfare of Students

Nepali community in Victoria today took part in a fundraising walk in the city of Melbourne. Walk for Welfare, a new nationwide initiative organized by the Australian national body of the global Nepali diaspora organization NRNA (Non Resident Nepalese Association), was attended by members of the national and state bodies of NRNA, Nepalese Association of Victoria, Consulate General of Nepal to Victoria as well as several members of the community. Notable attendees were students, who attended the walk despite their hectic lifestyle and an eighty year old mother of one of the community members, who all voiced importance of such programs. The program was supported by local sporting organizations. NRNA State Coordinator for Victoria stated the program was also successful in attracting financial support from local as well as interstate businesses. NRNA National and State Coordinators have vowed fair and transparent use of the fund.
