MEDIA RELEASE: 12TH NAV CUP CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2017 to start from 22 January 2017

Nepalese Association of Victoria is proud to organise the 12^th NAV CUP CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2017 commencing from  22^nd January 2017 in association with The Himalayan Club and with the participation of 7 cricket clubs – i) The Himalayan Club ii) Narre Kings Cricket Club iii) Sagarmatha Stars iv) Sagarmatha Renegades v) Gorkhali Cricket Club vi) Nepalaya Cricket Club & vii) Eastern Blues. The tournament will involve league matches followed by finals between the top two.

NAV Cup Cricket Tournament has been successfully held annually for a decade and NAV would like to invite all the Nepalese community in Victoria to make this event a grand success to mark the 12^th year anniversary and to encourage and support the interest of our youth in sports.

Expert Education & Visa Services Australia (EEVS) is the major sponsor of this year’s tournament. NAV also extends its heartfelt appreciation to Royal Gurkhas Institute of Technology (RGIT) for supporting NAV CUP as a major sponsor/partner until last year. The tournament is proudly supported by RGIT, Buyers Choice Mortgage and Finance, The Penguin Restaurant and Eagle Rise Sports.

The cash prizes for this year’s tournament are as follows:

NAV Cup will be held every Sunday at TW Blake Park, 74 Gower Street Preston every Sunday from 22^nd January 2017 at 10:00 am. Date and venue will be confirmed soon for the Semi-Final and the Grand final. We invite everyone to come and enjoy these matches.

Furthermore, NAV will also be organizing Multicultural Cricket Tournament starting from 14^th till 16^th April 2017. Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) has financially supported the tournament.
