Rubina Chhetry, Captain Nepalese Women’s Cricket Team Felicitated in Melbourne

Today Nepalese Association of Victoria organized an interaction and felicitation program of Ms Rubina Chhetry, Captain, Nepal National Women’s Cricket Team, who is at present in Melbourne to be part of Melbourne Renegade Cricket Team as an associate rookie. This program was organized at The Himalayan Cricket Club at TW Blake Park, 74 Gower Street, Preston, Victoria.
The interaction program was attended by officials from Melbourne Renegade, Cricket Australia, members from South Asian Community in Melbourne as well as Mr Hussain Hanif, Coach, NAV Cricket Team.
Dr Anupam Pokharel, President, NAV Chaired the program also attended by Mr Chandra Yonzon, Hon Consulate General of Nepal to Victoria, Mr Bom Yonzon, President The Himalayan Club. Mr Tara Gaire, Vice President and Chair, Sports Committee coordinated the program.
Ms Chhetry arrived in Melbourne just over a week ago. She will be returning back to Nepal on 12 January 2017. She said the experience she has gained while training and playing with Melbourne Renegade will be very valuable.
The program also included sporting activity involving Ms Chhetry and local girls and young women. This was coordinated by Mr Hussain Hanif, Cricket Coach and Tara Gaire (NAV VP and Chair, NAV Sports Subcommittee) along with Sunam Gautam (Captain NAV Cricket Team) and Roshan Paudyal (Captain, The Himalayan Cricket Club).
